The town

What Fuengirola is like.

Fuengirola is a town that works all year. It has a long seafront promenade, a port, a Tuesday market, a shopping centre, a castle on the hill and a beach that runs the whole length of it. Behind the seafront it is a busy Spanish town with everything you need within a walk.

The British community here goes back a long way, so you will find English-speaking doctors, lawyers, pubs, clubs and tradespeople without looking hard. The train makes it one of the easiest places to arrive at from the UK: airport to your door in under an hour without a car.

Where to look in Fuengirola

  • The centre and the port

Apartments close to the promenade, the shops and the main station.

  • Los Boliches

The eastern half of the town, with its own beach, church square and station. Popular with people from the UK for decades.

  • Torreblanca

On the hill above Los Boliches: sea views and lower prices, with a station at the bottom.

  • Carvajal

The far eastern end, on the Benalmádena border, with a quieter beach and its own station.

  • El Higuerón and Sohail

Newer apartments on the hill behind the castle, built for the views.
