What a penthouse means here

On the Costa del Sol a penthouse is the top floor of a block, not always a grand one. A duplex penthouse has a second level, usually a bedroom and a roof terrace up a private stair.

The terrace is the point

Check how big the terraces are and which way they face. A south-facing terrace gets sun all year. In August it gets hot too, so look for shade or an awning.

Two questions to ask

Does the lift go to the top floor, and when was the roof last waterproofed? A top floor carries the roof's problems with it.
